PatternBridge licence terms

These licence terms are also shown in the PatternBridge installer for acceptance before installation and are available in the app under About > Legal information > Licence terms.

1. Licensor and scope

Pascal Friedrich, NOISE & GRIT, Flurweg 8a, 8055 Seiersberg, Austria, support@noiseandgrit.com, grants the following rights to use PatternBridge. These terms concern software use. The seller's terms identified at checkout also apply to the purchase. Statutory rights against the relevant contracting party remain unaffected.

2. Licence and devices

Lawful purchase grants a non-exclusive, perpetual right to use the purchased PatternBridge version for personal and commercial purposes. One licence permits up to two activated computers. It does not permit public sharing of the key or providing it to unrelated third parties for their use. Mandatory statutory rights, including rights concerning a lawful transfer of software, remain unaffected.

3. Activation and moving computers

Use your licence key and purchase email address to activate. Activation and deactivation require internet access. PatternBridge automatically checks the licence at startup and periodically during use when a connection can be made. After successful activation, this installation can be used offline without a time limit. Connection failures and temporary service errors do not disable a saved activation. A confirmed online licence rejection still blocks access, including offline, until successful online validation restores it. Statutory rights to challenge an unjustified block remain unaffected. Reinstallation, loss of activation data or moving computers may require online activation again. This does not promise new activation without a reachable licensing service.

Deactivate a computer in the app when you no longer need its activation. Uninstalling alone does not release it. If the old computer is inaccessible, contact support, preferably from the purchase email address. Reasonable verification of entitlement may be required before a manual release. An email address alone does not guarantee a release.

4. Updates and compatibility

Published updates within major version 1.x are included at no additional charge for PatternBridge 1.0 buyers. This does not promise particular future features, a release schedule or free future major versions. Statutory update and conformity rights remain unaffected.

The system requirements and formats described before purchase apply. Automatic drum/melodic detection and sound assignments are estimates and may require correction. Not every format feature can be transferred without loss to another format or older firmware. Firmware 3.x MPC patterns cannot be loaded directly by firmware 2.x. Review results and keep backups of originals. This does not limit statutory rights where the product is defective.

Firmware 2.x patterns can be loaded by firmware 3.x. Conversion between firmware versions may omit automation and other non-note events that cannot be translated safely. Selecting a target version does not promise lossless preservation of every feature of the original format.

No additional voluntary guarantee is given for indefinite operation of the licensing service or provision of a special offline retirement edition. Statutory obligations and contractual rights remain unaffected. This does not permit statutory claims to be excluded by discontinuing the licensing service. Temporary outages do not enable new offline activation or remove a confirmed licence block. A validly activated installation remains usable offline during such outages as described in section 3.

5. Your files and third-party rights

NOISE & GRIT claims no rights in your input or output files merely because they are processed. The software licence grants no additional rights in third-party samples, musical works, MIDI or pattern files. You must have the rights needed for your use of the content you process.

6. Software and third-party components

Unauthorised distribution of the software or key and circumvention of licence checks are prohibited, except where mandatory law or applicable third-party licences permit otherwise. Statutory rights to examination, interoperability or error correction remain unaffected. Included third-party components are governed by their respective licences. These terms do not restrict modification or replacement of libraries or reverse engineering for debugging such modifications where those licences permit it.

6.1 Microsoft runtime components

Included Microsoft Visual C++ runtime components enable PatternBridge to operate. The licence granted here includes their use as part of PatternBridge, not their separate redistribution, rental or licensing. Microsoft and its licensors retain their ownership and copyright. Associated proprietary and copyright notices must not be removed or altered.

Modification, decompilation or disassembly of these Microsoft components is not permitted except where mandatory law or the licence terms applicable to the specific component allow it. This restriction does not apply indiscriminately to other libraries. In particular, rights to modify or replace LGPL components and to investigate errors for that purpose remain unaffected.

NOISE & GRIT does not relicense the Microsoft components under an open-source licence. These terms do not create a separate support or warranty agreement with Microsoft. Statutory rights against your relevant contracting party remain fully unaffected.

7. Support, statutory rights and law

Contact support@noiseandgrit.com for support. These terms do not exclude or reduce statutory conformity, withdrawal, damages or other mandatory consumer rights. There is no blanket exclusion of liability for data loss. The request to keep backups is a precaution, not a disclaimer of liability.

Austrian law applies to these software licence terms. Consumers retain the protection of mandatory laws of their country of habitual residence. Statutory consumer jurisdiction rights remain unaffected. This provision does not change the checkout seller's separate purchase terms.
